Decommissioning Checklist
Our certified technicians will ensure that all steps of the decommissioning process are completed according to the EDP Stage II decommissioning checklist. System owners are required to retain the completed decommissioning log for a period of three years.
The following activities are outlined in the Stage II decommissioning checklist:
- 1. Initiate safety procedures.
- 2. Relieve pressure in tank ullage.
- 3. Drain liquid-collection points.
- 4. Disconnect vapor pumping or processing unit.
- 5. Disconnect electrical components of Stage II VRS.
- 6. Reprogram dispenser to reflect the end of Stage II VRS service.
- 7. Seal below grade vapor piping below the dispenser base and cap with compatible material.
- 8. Seal below grade vapor piping at tank end if easily accessible and cap with compatible material.
- 9. Seal the vapor piping inside the dispenser and cap with compatible material.
- 10. Replace Stage II hanging hardware (if needed).
- 11. Install appropriate Pressure/Vacuum Vent valve.
- 12. Remove instructions from dispenser cabinet.
- 13. Conduct pressure decay method and tie-test methods within 30 days of decommissioning.
- 14. Verify the condition of storage tank components is such that vapors/liquids from system components cannot be released.
- 15. Ensure facility is restored and operating at full capacity.
